Upanishads Reference

The article claims that the Tisarana(refuge chant) is derived from Rigveda. This is when the Buddha was not even born at the time when Rigveda was written. It claims that Rigveda mentions Buddham Saranam Gacchami , that too in Pali. This must rectified. The Buddha made it clear that he did not borrow teachings from any other source(Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta). The refuge chant is from the Pali Canon, not Rigveda or any other Brahmanical text. @Bodhiupasaka: It's a Western scholar's opinion, clearly described as such, and cited. It will not be removed due to your dogmatic issues with it. Skyerise (talk) 14:10, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One western scholar's opinion does not make it a fact . History and any other modern fields of study is formed on consensus. That "opinion" is outdated. It's clear that someone else is beset by dogma. Bodhiupasaka (talk) 09:02, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Great, then provide sources that say it's outdated. That's how an encyclopedia does things. It presents ALL views and gives a history of them. After all, 2014 was so long ago. Skyerise (talk) 12:00, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have just checked back on this page and see that it’s gone. Why is the section gone? Emperor of Vietnam (talk) 23:34, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
