no Aryan heritage?

At the top of the article it says the Iranians settled in the 2nd BC.....But arent they part of the Indo-Iranian people? Don't they ahve Aryan heritage? If that is true, then werent the Indo-Iranian people (Aryans) around before 2nd BC? I mean think (I could be wrong) that the people of India might have been around longer then that? Untitled old topic

I am finding an interesting pattern regarding the history of Iranian people on Wikipedia. Despite both genetic and archeological finds, various writers of Iranian background are for unknown purposes deciding to collect all the ancient peoples of Central Asia under the rubric of Iranian peoples. Sarmatians, Scythians, Sakas, etc., are all considered Iranian origin by these writers. Its a wonder that the Goths aren't considered Iranian at this point. This is a vast disservice to Wikipedia in that it undermines the online encyclopedia's standard of scholarship. I urge the moderators and writers of Wikipedia to look more thoroughly into this issue.

Anon, your edit is unnecessary. They were the ancestors of modern day Iranian Azeris, and also, users can click on the articles to learn more.Hajji Piruz 15:05, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Anon, if you look at drawings and carvings of ancient Scythians, you will find that they were more similar to Parthians and Persians in clothing, beard style, and overall appearance than they were to pretty much everyone else. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaveh94 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
