Question about recent redesignation

I'm having trouble following the DOT source a bit; I understand that I-85 Business is being removed from the I-40 section; but the recent changes to the article make it appear to ALSO be removed from the short segment from I-40 to the I-73/I-85 complex. This is a short, but not insignificant freeway section that includes three interchanges of its own. Has I-85 Business been removed from this segment as well? If so, what is the plan for designating this freeway, or is there? Is it going to be an unsigned freeway like the stub of former U.S. 421 between the outer loop and MLK Boulevard? Some explanation may bear out explaining here in this article, and this may affect other road articles in the area as well... --Jayron32 15:28, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Its routing was in complete concurrency with US 29 and US 70 between Lexington to Greensboro, which includes the freeway section; my guess it will default to one of the two US Highways (similar to the plan of US 421 officially replacing I-40 Bus. in Winston-Salem). The reference does include a map of all that was eliminated. --WashuOtaku (talk) 15:53, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Route going through Greensboro.

I checked on Maps, and it appears as though this road designation's North end is actually at the interchange of I-40/I-85/I-785/I-840. Is there any way that the route outline on the map can be edited to show this? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 22:20, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. This is the current routing at this time, and the article is sourced with a document from NCDOT identifying its decommissioning through Greensboro. In the last couple of months NCDOT has removed 'most' of the signs from the route. --WashuOtaku (talk) 03:28, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, well then maybe Google Maps streetview hasn't been updated yet. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 01:32, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, can that the portion that went through Greensboro be added when the full highway is decommissioned? Check the Future section of the article for more details. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 05:00, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That should be in history; NCDOT has removed all I-85 Business signage from its Greensboro section and US 70 has also been removed from signage, though have not been signed on its new route at this time. I have personally driven through this area, so I know, it was done about two months ago now. --WashuOtaku (talk) 05:24, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I haven't been to Greensboro in at least like 8 or 9 months. Mostly because I have only went there with my and sister to visit my grandmother. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 18:29, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
