Saw IV Confirmation

The third sequel in the Saw series was announced by Lionsgate Film Company on October 30, 2006. The film is set for an October 26, 2007, release date.

Plot Summary

This sequel is set to follow more of the Jigsaw Killer's sick, and not to mention, blood soaked games.

Confirmed Writers

After original writer Leigh Whannell announced that he would not be involved in the third sequel, Lionsgate Film Company went on a quest to quickly find new writers to helm the project. Bloody-Disgusting.com reports that writers Marcus Dunstan, Thomas H. Fenton, and Patrick Melton will all be penning their own scripts for the sequel. An unknown fourth writer is yet to be announced. This news has also been confirmed by officials at Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures.

Cast

The only confirmed cast member so far is actor Tobin Bell, who will be reprising his role as the Jigsaw Killer. It is speculated that actor Angus MacFadyen will return to reprise his role as Jeff, and complete his game that was left up in the air at the end of Saw III. See the Saw III page for full details.

Rumors

  • Some speculate that the fourth film will be a prequel, therefore taking place before the events of the first Saw film.
  • Some fans speculate that the film will begin immediately after Saw III, leaving the audience to watch Jeff complete his game.
  • Not to long ago, it was beleived by many, that actress Jessica Alba (Sin City)(Fantastic Four), would play the lead role in the upcoming Saw Sequel. That rumor was also confirmed false.
