January
- 2 January - The digital switchover in Singapore is completed, and analogue television was terminated entirely.[1]
- 12 January - Woman Chen Si Jie won $193,400 in the long-running MediaCorp Channel 8 game show The Sheng Siong Show, making Chen the all-time biggest winner in the show's history.[2][3][4]
- 13 January - The Ten Mile Junction LRT Station, part of the Bukit Panjang LRT line, permanently ceased operation; it was the first-ever operational train station in Singapore, MRT or LRT, to do so.[5]
- 25 January - The first phase of the Cross Island MRT Line was unveiled- A 12 station line spanning 29-km from Changi, Loyang, Pasir Ris, Defu, Hougang, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan, was announced to be completed by 2029.[6]

- A brief power outage struck Bishan, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh and Thomson. The outage was traced to a fire in the Bright Hill substation.[7]
- Wisma Geylang Serai opened in Geylang.[8]

- Singapore celebrated its 200th Anniversary of the modern foundation of Singapore by Stamford Raffles.[9]
- Ministry of Health revealed that personal data of about 14,200 people with HIV were illegally disclosed.[10]

- 14 February- MediaCorp Internet Television site Toggle collaborates with HBO GO. [11]
- 14 February- A power outage strikes central Singapore. At the same time, a fire happened at the Carlton Hotel, caused by an electric flashover. [12]
- 15 February- Digital Defence is unveiled as the 6th pillar of Total Defence[13]
