The Australian Monarchist League, although originally a part of the International Monarchist League (est. 1943), established itself as an independent Australian body in 1993.

PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of the Australian Monarchist League is to educate and inform the Australian public on Australian history and particularly on the Australian Constitution, to disseminate literature and to maintain a library on Australian colonial and federation history and the Constitution. The League also conducts seminars open to the public for the purpose of teaching Australian colonial and federation history and all aspects relating to the Constitution.

STRUCTURE:

The Australian Monarchist League is incorporated as an association in New South Wales. It is a not-for-profit membership based organisation and has no paid staff whatsoever and is run totally on a voluntary basis. It is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Some years ago, the League established a Trust with a number of prominent Australian businessmen as Trustees. The most important role of the Trust is to raise and administer funds.

MEMBERSHIP:

In December, 2009, the membership of the League reached 2,957. It has branches in all six States and in the Australian Capital Territory. All office bearers are elected and all members have a say in the organisation.

AFFILIATIONS:
