Cannabis strains are either pure breeds or hybrid breeds of Cannbis species, primarily indica and sativa. Strains are developed to highlight specific properties of the plant, such as growth rate, [THC] content and medicinal aspects. Another driving force in the creation of uniquely named strains is the marketing effort of distributors such as Amsterdam coffeeshops.
