A question

[edit]

Should the title be written as De re metallica or De Re Metallica? I don't know. -- Astrochemist (talk) 01:15, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have always seen it as De Re Metallica, as in the Dover edition by Herbert Hoover and his wife. The article could do with some expansion, and inclusion of some more of his amazing woodcuts. Peterlewis (talk) 05:01, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hand-colored underground "ore crusher" image

[edit]

I've been reading through this translation of De Re Metallica, and coming back here now I noticed the image captioned "Underground ore crusher, in an undated, hand-colored woodcut" is actually a machine listed in the book as a "rag and chain" pump (Book VI). "The third of this kind" as Georgius refers to it. I'll correct the caption.

However, there is a picture for an ore crusher in Book VIII that this image could be replaced by and preserve the caption's intent, though I do not know it it wold be legal to use the one I linked to as is. 2A0C:5A81:8706:9400:C1A9:7492:51B7:BB9 (talk) 07:01, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
