He's dead

[edit]

I am warning everyone to be on your best behavior. Please be NPOV - that means no name-calling, no unfounded statements, everything needs to be neutral and cited. Do not use the word "terrorist" anywhere in this article; it will be promptly removed. Nutmegger 05:02, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can't use the word terrorist? Please explain why.--207.81.147.69 19:17, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg. -- Abraham Lincoln —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.144.214.38 (talk) 10:30, 13 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

If Dadullah has been listed or referred to as a "terrorist" then, in principle, it would be permissible to write something like "The Fooian State Department listed Dadullah as a terrorist". Therefore there can be no blanket bans on using particular words. Greenshed 16:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about we just call a spade a spade? 72.178.131.225 23:41, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He is a terrorist. Sorry to burst your bubble. How many people do you have to behead nowadays before other can call you a terrorist? lol. And was his beheadings even mentioned in his article? Despite being mentioned in every news article about him?

Dadullah Lang?

[edit]

Why are some media organizations referring to him as "Mullah Dadullah Lang"? What is his real full name? Inkan1969 01:46, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious claim

[edit]

"In October 2006 it was rumored[9] that the Afghan government was considering giving control of its defense ministry over to Dadullah as part of a reconciliation plan with the Taliban ..." says some columnist at The Nation, but else says so? 154.5.16.4 06:19, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NATO confirms his death

Death date

[edit]

Is there any consensus amongst the news agencies on the date that he died. This article keeps changing. I looked yesterday, it said the 13th. I looked yesterday at a later time and it was the 12th. Now it says the 11th. His death date needs to be sourced. Also, the lead says he died the 11th, while the end of the article says that on the 13th, it was reported he died the previous night. All these inconsistencies need to be ironed out. Pepsidrinka 16:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dadullah DID die last Saturday, May 12. And after being shown yesterday, his body was buried today in a funeral attended by friends, but no family, despite Omar's threat that "if [people] don't [hand Dadullah's body to relatives for burial] the consequenses will be very bad." You should definitely update the article, because here's the link. --Angeldeb82 18:29, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"...despite Omar's threat that "if [people] don't [hand Dadullah's body to relatives for burial] the consequenses will be very bad..." I bet the coalition is really scared, a threat from a coward who hides in his cave. Come out and fight like a man. He died on Saturday May 12, Sky News did a report on him on Sunday 13 saying "Mullah blahblah who was killed yesterday", so i take it they refer to the 12. Anyway, good riddance hes dead. Wait a minute. I think he must have died over the weekend or something. I'm getting confused here. --Angeldeb82 18:34, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He died on Friday May 11. 69.47.184.193 06:01, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please find out the correct date of death? Currently it says the 12th, however on the wiki page on Taliban, it states that he died on the 13th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heytaytay99 (talkcontribs) 11:03, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Akhund?

[edit]

You can not call someone Mullah XYZ Akhund. Mullah and akhund mean the same thing, and are identical, interchangeable titles, not last names. He can either be called Daudullah akhund or Mullah Daudullah but not both. Its like calling someone Reverend Rowan Reverened —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.163.126.16 (talk) 10:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

This may require a page move to fix, if we are switching from Akhund to Mullah, or dropping the title altogether. Dadullah's pic may need a new filename, too. --PFHLai 12:29, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They do call him "Mullah Dadullah Akhund" (ملا دادالله اخون) in the Pashto WP, though. --Reenpier 20:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hazara rebellion?

[edit]

There is debate over whether the Hazara "rebellion" was an actual rebellion or just a cover for genocide. The Taliban had a history of racism towards the Hazara population, and killings of innocent Hazaras weren't uncommon.

Hazaras and Ubzeks rebelled in Mazar in 1997 and massacred 3,000 Taliban. --HanzoHattori 21:47, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The massacres of Uzbeks, Hazaras, and Tajiks started much earlier than the rebellion in Mazar. The rebellion in Mazar was actually because of the Taliban ethnic and religious oppression. You are right, the Taliban were a Pashtun ethno natioanlist racist movement and oppressed and persucated the non-Pashtun majority. --Behnam 22:08, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
