Former rail system

[edit]

Rail transport in Hong Kong notes Waglan Island as the former site of a rail system of some kind. Judging from the geography, I don't see how that could be possible, but if anyone can point me to information regarding rail transport on this island, I should be very interested to see it. 97.102.30.205 (talk) 15:15, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked at the citation on the page, it links Waglan Island's small pulley rail system (纜索鐵道, the same used in Peak Trams) built only to transport passengers and cargo from it's small dock to it's lighthouse. According to the page it's specifications are unusual and not seen in any rail system in HK. It is currently abandoned.
here is a video showing it's present state: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzVetIuqcqw Justinl21 (talk) 09:49, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
