What is this airport's actual name?

[edit]

I'm not convinced that "Fa'a'ā International Airport" is the best/proper name for this airport. (I suspect that the person who gave this page that name just happens to love diacritics.) The external web site for this airport (referenced from the article) says "Aéroport de Tahiti, Tahiti-Faa’a". (There are also three other "Aéroports de Tahiti" on other islands in French Polynesia.) And if you look up "PPT" in the official IATA web site, you get "Faaa" as the "Airport Name". Are there any 'airports in Wikipedia' experts who can provide guidance here? @Rsfinlayson: I suspect you may be right - I'm trying to find examples to help find a consensus on WP:COMMONNAME without sources being pre influenced by Wikipedia.
  • Lonely Planet - Faa'a [1]
  • NZ Herald - Faa'a [2], [3]
  • Tahiti Nui Travel - Faa'a [4]
  • Tahiti Airlines - Faa'a [5]

There are examples of fa'a'a and also with macrons but they tend to be sources that could be mimicking Wikipedia in some self fulfilling circle.

I also checked several sites in French; they all say "Faa'a": [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] Ross Finlayson (talk) 03:57, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've now renamed the page as "Faa'a International Airport" Ross Finlayson (talk) 21:41, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Indirect destinations

[edit]

@Andrewgprout: Regarding this revert, shouldn’t the table only list direct destinations? Otherwise it would include basically every LATAM destination. Similarly, we would have almost the entire United airport list, Air France airport list, etc. Why specifically list one indirect destination? — MarkH21talk 10:10, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
