I accept the idea of splitting this article into different pages but I am not at all clear as to how this should be done. For example, would there be pages 'Jeans Deans - Public Houses', 'Jeans Deans - Ships' etc., and how would they be linked to the original page? (Ajsinclair (talk) 12:05, 6 July 2011 (UTC)).[reply]

I notice that there are many bigger articles of which there is no question of splitting them. I would therefore like to be directed to articles that have been successfully split without losing connection with the main theme of the original article. It is important to me that main connection with the Jeanie Deans should not be lost otherwise all this research effort has been in vain. (Ajsinclair (talk) 17:39, 10 July 2011 (UTC)).[reply]

I have deleted the D29 locomotive photograph as it is not actually of the 'Jeanie Deans' locomotive and is therefore not essential to this article.
I am presently seeking permission for the rose photograph which I got from a Serbian site. It seems pretty essential to Wikimedia Commons as it is used in a number of different sites. Ajsinclair (talk) 11:17, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to use this image has now been given by Radoslav Petrovic the owner of the image. He e-mailed his permission to Wikimedia Commons.

I would be interested to know in what way this article is 'improved' by deleting important information regarding its content. The purpose of this article is to inform the public and this deletion of information obviously detracts from that objective. It appears that too many changes are being made to articles in total disregard as to whether it is in the public interest to make such changes.

I am now in the process of 'disambiguating' this article. Here is my progress so far:
