I am new to Wikipedia. I have specifically joined in order to strengthen it in the area of California Art. There is a tremendous lack of entries and depth on many of California's Plein-Air painters, both historic and contemporary. For example, I don't see any entry on Mian Situ or Peter Seitz Adams, both of whom are important living artists. I have explained what I see as Arny Karl's importance in the revitalization of California Plein-Air pastel painting and I intend to link and tie this into a number of other articles that I intend to write. His work is in museums and many more are to grace a few different public collections . I wasn't aware that there was a master administrator who decides which artists or musicians are worthy of inclusion. This is not some sort of flowerly vanity article dedicated to a living artist. I see entries on California artists like Mel Ramos or Wayne Thiebaud, so I assume they have received some of official seal of approval. This is being written as an objective, sourced and linked entry.

Go ahead, you're doing the right thing. Therefore I removed the deletion template. But as a newbie you'd better acquaint yourself first with the guideline Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies) and some policies : Wikipedia:Notability (people), Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Citing sources. If you write according to these guidelines and policies, nobody will bother you ever more with deletion proposals. And once you get the hang of all this, you'll be wanting to share your knowledge and write a lot more articles, as I did. Good luck. JoJan (talk) 09:06, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
