Daniel Dimov (Bulgarian: Даниел Димов; born January 21, 1989 in Shabla) is a Bulgarian football midfielder, who currently plays for Levski Sofia.

Dimov is a defensive midfielder who plays excellent with head and has very good long range passes. Sometimes on the pitch Dimov's role is to play like deep lying playmaker. He is also considered as one of the most talented young players in the Bulgarian football in nowadays and may be the best defensive midfielder in the A PFG.[1]

Career

Early career

Daniel Dimov is a product of Cherno More's youth system. In the Bulgarian under-19 national championship he appeared in 103 games and scored 44 goals.

Cherno More

Dimov made his debut during the 2006–07 season on September 15, 2006, in the 6–0 away win against Chernomorets Burgas Sofia, coming on as a substitute for Slavi Zhekov. On 14 July 2007, Dimov scored his first goal for a 3-0 home win against Makedonija Gjorče Petrov in the second round of Intertoto Cup.

The 2009–10 A PFG season meant a lot to Daniel Dimov. The coach Velizar Popov decided to put Dimov into the starting line-up as a defensive midfielder. In this season, he earned 17 appearances in the A PFG. On 1 March 2010 Daniel scored his first A PFG goal for the Sailors in the 2–0 home win against Chernomorets Burgas. On 4 April, Dimov hit his second goal of the season against Sportist Svoge in a 3–0 win.

On October 2, 2010, Dimov scored his third goal for Cherno More, netting in the 40th minute of their 1–3 away loss against Litex Lovech. On 23 October, he made his 50th appearance for the team in A PFG in a 0–2 loss against Montana.

Levski Sofia

On 26th December, 2010 was announced that Dimov is new Levski Sofia player.[2]

International career

On October 1, 2010, Dimov received his first call-up for the Bulgaria national team for the Euro 2012 qualifying against Wales and the friendly match against Saudi Arabia from Lothar Matthäus.
