Sandviken Municipality (Sandvikens kommun) is a municipality in Gävleborg County, in east central Sweden. The seat is the town Sandviken.

The municipality covers an area of 1164.7 km². Of the total population of 37064, 18635 are male, and 18429 are female. The population density is 32 inhabitants per km².

The present municipality was created in 1971 through the amalgamation of the City of Sandviken (itself instituted in 1943) with a number of surrounding rural municipalities.
